Tobias Stenkjær
Musikcaféen, Copenhagen
5. December 2007

I'm always looking for upcoming artists at the Danish music scene to surprise me. Songwriters Evenings is a great forum to discover the stars of tomorrow and in August last year I attended one in Lades Kælder conducted by the renowned Brett Perkins (se my pictures fom the event here). Among the performing arists I especially noticed tree participants: Thomas Buttenschøn, Kaspar Vig Parby and a young man who performed with great self-confidence: Tobias Stenkjær.

Thomas Buttenschøn's carrer is wellknown, I've followed Kaspar Vig Parby at several concerts and I've made a photo series of him as well (see here), so only Tobias was lacking.

So I captured this opportunity to hear him when I became aware that he was to play at Musikcaféen supporting another upcoming talent, Chris Townsend (photos coming very soon).

In his seven song set of singer/songwriter songs he was backed by his friend, Klaus ?, on five of the songs ... (text continues after I've recieved Tobia's album ...)

Tobias Stenkjær plans to release his debut album, Blissfully Unaware, in April 2008.

Tobias supperted Chris Townshend, who played after a short break.
See the photo series of Chris' set here.
